Village official shot dead in Cam Sur

LEGAZPI CITY – A barangay kagawad (village councilor) was gunned down by two unidentified suspects in Libmanan town, Camarines Sur on early Friday morning, a police official reported Saturday.

Jack Cuenca, 47 of Barangay (village) San Isidro, Libmanan was killed at around 6:45 a.m., said Chief Inspector Ayn Natuel, Bicol regional police spokesperson.

Initial investigation showed the victim was on board a Sym motorcycle, bearing the plate number 5186 EI, while two motorcycle-riding men waylaid and shot Cuenca.

Natuel said the assailants used .45 cal pistol to shot the victim, who sustained a gun shot wound at the back of his head and another shot on his body.

The suspects fled after the shooting incident while the victim was declared dead on arrival by the physician.
