NPA rebels attack cell site in Masbate

LEGAZPI CITY –Around 20 communist guerillas raided another Globe cell site in Masbate, Thursday night, reports reaching Gen. Simeon A. Ola said.

According to the reports, the suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebels barged into the compound at around 10:20 p.m. at Barangay (village) Poblacion, Pio V Corpus town in Masbate.

However the communist group withdrew towards unknown direction after the security guard on duty traded shots with the rebels.

Recovered from the scene were fragments of the improvised explosive device.

The destruction of the telecommunication sites and equipments in Masbate was the second Globe cell site that was attacked by the NPA group.
