Medical mission benefits hundreds in Legazpi City

LEGAZPI CITY – Dozens of families had been given free medical check-ups and dental services here as the City Health Office of Legazpi extended its aid through humanitarian services last September 30.

The whole-day medical mission was successfully conducted at Barangay Bitano, this city where most of the residents had received free medical consultations and medicines.

At least 258 patients had benefited from the said free services of the private and group volunteers.

Some 30 people who have been suffering from eye problems lined up for examinations while 57 patients were treated and underwent tooth extractions.

The said activity was a joint venture of the Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Bitano, Legazpi City; City Government of Legazpi and the ACCORD team of the 901st Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army in collaboration with the City Health office of Legazpi; Adventist Community Services of Legazpi City; Junior Chamber International Daraga and Legazpi City Chapter; AKBAYAN Party list; PNP Leg; AMEC school of Nursing of LEG; Aviation Security group and Bicol Express Riders Club Inc.

Meanwhile, the Seventh Day Adventist Community Services of Legazpi also conducted feeding program (Soya milk and bread) to the 300 elementary pupils of Bitano Elementary School.
